On this site you can execute a program that implements a grating cell operator. This biologically motivated operator is based on the Gabor filter and includes non-linear post processing. Similar to the Gabor filter, it is useful for detecting oriented texture. In contrast to the Gabor filter, this operator does not react to non-texture features, such as isolated lines and edges.
Select an input image or upload your own input image. Specify the parameter values of the filter and submit the job for execution by pressing "Update View!". After the program completes the input image and the resulting output image will be displayed in the page. You can save the results on your system.
